Choosing a naming convention is not necessarily trivial. As you just
discovered. *SYS naming means that if you provide statements with schema
names (libraries) then the qualifying character is a slash (/) not a period
(.) and periods are the standard SQL qualifying character.

It also means that you are at the mercy of the library list. In C/S and
remote connection environments, this can get messy.
