What model 4230 did you get ? There is a little tag on the front, bottom right hand side (not on the "beige" area, but on the dark brown area) that says Type 4230-??? where ??? is the model number. Not sure if this would effect that or not but the 101's configure on the AS/400 as a 4214 and the 102's as *IPDS...
