Try connecting using Telnet... Client Access Express uses the Telnet ports, but also maintains a number of other open ports to the 400...some of which may be blocked by your firewall/VPN. I recommend MochaSoft TN5250 as a pure Telnet client... Small, fast, and very inexpensive... Of course, if you cannot connect via Telnet either, then it is a route or DNS problem... 1) When you ping, try upsing the IP instead of the name. 2) In the VPN connection setup, try checking/unchecking the advanced option to use default gateway on remote network. On my setup, I do NOT use the 'default gateway on the remote network', and I add the remote DNS servers IP address to my VPN connections DNS Server list...
