This is our policy. The text command files are built "on the fly". How they are
built is dependent upon parameters. The directories of where a file should be
"PUT" or "GET" is a parameter. The usercode/password also parameter. It depends
what is required for the file that is going to be FTP'ed to where-ever. I found
that there is no one rule fits all, but we have this in place. Parameters for
the TEST or development region, a different set for the QA (or User acceptance
region) and one for the PRODUCTION region, but its the same program running in
each case.
You will have to sit down and formulate waht is required for your environment
Good luck, good hunting

We use TXT command files to run FTPs in batch to send commands to the FTP being
executed. Is there anyway to dynamically change the TXT file in batch so that
we can change the directories where files are PUT to instead of maintaining two
sets of TXT files - one for production and one for test?
