Cindi, 1) Why don't they want a web app? Just curious. 2) ODBC only drags a system into the ground if there aren't indexes available to support the queries. He will be using sockets to communicate between the VB app and the 400. We started out with ODBC and web based programming and it used to drag our system to its knees. (a 510) We changed to sockets and they run in batch and really do not impact our system at all. I used the Sorcerers Guide as a template.
