Our company has been using BMC Solutions Inc. to cover our printers under
contract for probably the last 10 years.

I am pretty happy with them. All 14 of our IBM printers are covered for
under $6000 per year. We have three IBM 6400's and they are less than $100
a month.

We probably place a service call once or twice a month. We probably pay a
little more over the long run, but we get excellent service. I just had BMC
out here today for missing print on the left side from a IBM 6400. Called
at 11:00 am and they were here by 1:30 pm. Turned out to be a piece of
frayed ribbon stuck under a hammer fret.

We are in the Chicago area and BMC Solutions is headquartered in Kennesaw,
GA (800-607-2375).

Dang, I figgered after an hour of no response, my questions subject line was
more accurate than I thought. IBM is on it's way. $250/hr. min. 2 hours. But
heck, maintenance on this printer is something like $3,000 a year. I'm still
ahead.

Where are you located? There are many 3rd party hardware
support companies that can service all kinds of IBM
equipment, some cover multiple states. Wish I had a
name. Does iseriesnetwork list any of these?
