The NS/Router is not a pre-requisite for emulation on an SNA Server so eliminating it is not an issue. To prove the point you can download the demo version of Synapse WinAPPC at http://www.synapse.com and try it yourself. You will get display, printer, and file transfer running over SNA Server (or TCP/IP, or NS/Router, btw). This is a robust product that has been around for years. It runs on any flavor of Windows from 3.1 to XP. Jerry Claimer: I sell, support, use, and recommend Synapse products and have since 1988 and will forever. Can I do away with the server because I am having too many problem with the folks administring the server giving a steady connection for a whole week without some kind of a glitch, that disconnects the users. I also want to eliminate the NS Router emulation and go with CAE cause NS Router is not supported on Win2K, which is the current OS of choice in my environment. So I have VB folks saying they can not go to Win2k because they have code written that will not work if OS is changed from Win95 to Win2k. > > Someone educate me here. > > > > Thanks, > > > Dare > > > > > > Each friend represents a world in us, a > world possibly not born until they arrive, > and it is only by this meeting that a new > world is born. > -- > > _______________________________________________ > This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list > To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, > visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l > or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com > Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives > at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. > >
