I have always used two seconds as a maximum for a complex transaction,
one second for a simple transaction.  I seem to recall the two-second
figure used in many places as the maximum acceptable response time
before the mind starts to wander.

Have you adjusted your QINTER timeslice to allow for a longer standard?
