Evan,

Have you thought of saving the multmembered file(s) to a save file and
then jarring that?  An extra step, but it ought to work.  You may even
get a smaller file, with two stages of compression if you specify
DTACPR(*YES) on the SAVOBJ command.  Or just use the save file
directly...
