Email packages

I have been asked by my CTO to throw this message out here and see what type of 
feedback I get.

We are using GroupWise as our email software. Overall we are pretty satisfied 
with it, but some are pushing for a switch. To what is the question. Lotus 
Notes is one option. Doesn't this run on the AS400? Can I get some feedback 
from those who use it there and especially from those who made a switch from 
GroupWise or Outlook (the other option)? What about performance or dasd space 
considerations? What about remote access like via the web? I know nothing about 
Lotus Notes so go easy on me.
If anyone is using other packages and want to give their opinions I would 
appreciate those as well.
