Insisting the editor run on the server is unique. If I had a file stored
on a MS Server would I decry the fact that I had to have a mapped drive
instead of having a Citrix session directly on that server to access the
file? No.
Would I take a job at a place that only had twinax terminals? No. The
last company I saw like that, has since gone out of business. It's a
general business rule that if the equipment is getting old, you are on a
sinking ship. I've learned this at a factory I took a summer job at in
college. It was a printing place. The presses were all 40 years old or
older. Some of the employees have been there for that long. The building
is now scheduled for implosion.
