This is a multipart message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Andy, It sounds like you are right on. We had HUGE amounts of time being ate up by SAVSECDTA, which in turn drives up the time of a SAVSYS. Went from 5 minutes to 45 minutes! IBM dialed in and it was private authorities. Not that I really understood private authorities. Turns out that using supplemental groups is something that can really drive up private authorities. In your user profile you can have 1 primary group profile and numerous supplemental group profiles. Turns out that one person tried to be clever and implemented a technique from his old shop and started using supplemental groups. We've since abandoned that and are using authorization lists. Much cleaner. Rob Berendt -- "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." Rich, 35-45 minutes sounds excessive for a system such as yours. I'm used to less than ten minutes (and usually less than five). Do you make extensive use of a complex scheme of private authorities in securing objects on your system? One way to check is to look at the object size of your user profiles. Even if you do, this still sounds too long.
