It probably increased PTF worries.  As I recall (and this could well be wrong),
you were supposed to uninstall ACCELER8 prior to applying PTF's so that the
original IBM modules were in place during the PTF application.

Then you would reinstall ACCELER8, and hope it was still compatible.

I could be wrong here.
