Great! Glad I could help -- your problem looked very similar to one I was struggling with just last week, so the light bulb went off . . .! I haven't really figured _why_ this works yet, but it looks like the ORDER BY doesn't like being in the sub-select clause -- instead, it needs to be associated with the INSERT (for some reason).
