This is very weird and I have no clue where to start looking, I'm not even
sure if it is relevant to this list.

We have people connected to our AS/400 via client Access Express.

The AS/400 and OS/390 are connected via TCP/IP.

When people want to connect to the OS/390, they run "telnet 10.10.20.2" on
the AS/400.

The OS/390 brings up a screen that looks like this:

 Enter Your Userid:
 Password: New password
 Application:
 Application Required. No Installation Default

They type PRODCICS in the application field and hit enter.

they then do a clear screen and type IDEA

It logs them into an IDEAL login screen (computer associates product).

They use this application.

Over the last two weeks, have been getting errors "1-ICSCDISP09E - PMS RPA
I/O ERROR - PRESS CLEAR TO CONTINUE."

It doesn't kick them from the OS/390 session, but it has interfered with
their work (notes they type in only have save, etc.)

The OS/390 admins (they are in a different state and technically separate
departments) say it is because we are connecting over TCP/IP (we have been
doing it for about 2 months that way now). They say it has nothing to do
with them.

Being that users are not getting kicked from the telnet session, I can't see
how it is something I can do anything about.

Anyone have any advice or recommendation or insight or ANYTHING?
