Mark-- Does your version of Windoze allow you to set priorities for running tasks? If so, there are 2 approaches to try: 1) Make the printing task low enough priority so it stops hogging the system. 2) Make the printing task highest user priority. Now, #2 may seem strange, but consider how the AS/400 does it-- ideally, your printer jobs have a rather high priority. The idea is that a printer takes a slug of data, then chews on it, builds a page, and prints out a page. In the meantime, the AS/400 goes on and does a lot of stuff. Once the printer is ready for more data, the transfer of data is a quick process.
