Mike, I can't say that I totally disagree with your statement, but I do think the IBM midrange industry is somewhat insulated from this condition. I know too many successful, non-degreed AS400 professionals. I've worked with many people with non-tech degrees too. (Acting(Drama), accounting, english-lit, philosophy, theology...) A degree never hurts, though... <G> Perhaps we could dust off the MIDRANGE dot COM survey and get a feel for the educational background of our membership.
