Since your mail reader does not understand this format, some or all of this message may not be legible. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] One of our programmers is trying to read a name field from a file with an SQL statement. The name is D'Angelo. The single quote as I understand it is causing the program to halt because the single quote is the string delimiter. In the SQL reference manual it says that the string delimiter can be changed to double quotes in Cobol but that the delimiter is fixed in our high level languages. We don't have Cobol. Is there a work around for this in RPG or Java?
