Al,

V4R5 SUPPORT was extended to December 31st. The ability to actually ORDER
V4R5 goes away July 2nd.
Read the "Upgrade to V4R5" column, not the "End of Program Services"
column. http://www-912.ibm.com/supporthome.nsf/Document/17623433

So, anyone with a valid software subscription who is on V3R2 (CISC to RISC
upgrade), or V4R1-2-3-4 who thinks they may want to go to V4R5 instead of
V5R1 ought to be ordering V4R5 NOW !

With all due respect to Mr. Palmer, V4R5 was extended until 12/31/02.

If you're going to go from V4R4 to V4R5 you better get an order in to IBM
ASAP. V4R5 is withdrawn from sales as of July 2nd - after that you'll
have to go to V5R1.

Pam,

You're welcome, and I hope it survives a more rigorous examination. I
would echo some of the other comments though.

Why such hesitancy to upgrade your IBM software? Upgrades from V4R4 to
V4R5 or V5R1 are commonplace and have been done without significant
error. It seems unusual to structure a hardware purchase to avoid an
upgrade.

Andy Nolen-Parkhouse
