Jim might have an excellent point... the limits document might be saying that 
FTP under OS/400 has a 1TB limit which would be meaningful only if both client 
and server were under OS/400. If client _or_ server is under another OS, then 
the limit cannot be known without checking that other OS.

Try FTP from one iSeries to another or to/from the same system to see if 4GB is 
imposed outside of OS/400.
