But I can't see the system in Win98's Network Neighborhood. If >I try to map it to a drive letter, it says "system not found." Visibility of the system in Windoze Network Neighbourhood depends on correctly configuring the domain - and even then is erratic. It also depends on NetServer being started. You can usually locate the system by doing a Find Computer. You will need to know the NetServer name, which is usually the system name prefixed by a Q, although NetServer supports an attribute that if set will allow the system name to be used also. OpsNav will show you the attributes and allow you to start it -- or you could use our ONcmd facility to do it directly from the command line. For example: Display SMB Server Attributes System: GRYPHON Automatic start . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : Yes Server . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : QGRYPHON Domain . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : FBNS Text 'description' . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : AS/400 gryphon.flybynight. com.au Allow system name . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : Yes Guest support . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : No Server role . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : *NONE Coded character set identifier . . . . . . . . . : *JOB Inactivity time out . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 6000 Opportunistic lock time out . . . . . . . . . . : 600 Browsing interval . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 720000 Allow WINS proxy . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : No Regards, Simon Coulter. -------------------------------------------------------------------- FlyByNight Software AS/400 Technical Specialists http://www.flybynight.com.au/ Phone: +61 3 9419 0175 Mobile: +61 0411 091 400 /"\ Fax: +61 3 9419 0175 mailto: shc@flybynight.com.au \ / X ASCII Ribbon campaign against HTML E-Mail / \ --------------------------------------------------------------------
