Rob:
The 4800 modem is a 208 bell protocol supported number.  The 9600 is a
V.32 supported modem.  The IBM modem does not support Bell 208 or Bell
201 at 4800/2400 respectively.

Carl,

We can get the IBM fax/data modem to work with the Indianapolis 9600
number.  We cannot get it to work with the Fort Wayne 4800 number.

I wonder if GEIS uses a different sync protocol for each of the two
lines?
