A V.35 line between two iSeries may be replaced by that same line being connected via routers. Now this line can be shared with your TCP/IP connected PC's. We've done a lot of extensive upgrades to our network lately, giving us higher speed, better quality, more backup and a savings of $100,000. You take a "working", "solid as a rock" comm. system out for "pure tcp/ip" ????? I would "love" to see the business justification for that move. I would also like to know who promotes tcp/ip as "modern", since it is actually almost as old as V.35(1971 as I recall for tcp/ip).
