Do have another PC you can use? I suspect that it is a Windows problem and I think it unlikely that IBM support will be able to help. There is probably some fault, or some interfering application preventing the system from working, and Windows is not inteligent enough to even to know it has a problem, let alone tell you what the problem is!!! How old is the PC/Windows installation. Windows always seems fine when freshly installed, but , IMHO, gets 'worse' as it gets older. I know this is not much help, but I had a similar problem with my 270. I could get CA Ops Console to work on a on a reletively fresh installation of Windows, but even then it wasn't very reliable. Win2000 was better than Win98 in this case. Eventually resorted to a 3197 Twinax device - much superior - always works, doesn't crash or present problems.
