I went down this road a year or so ago.  I figured if I can run commands on
another AS/400 via FTP I must be able to do the same on NT or Unix boxes.
Wrong.  Their FTP servers do not support this.  Given the security records
of those OS's, it probably is not a good idea anyway.  Unix FTP servers
have some built in commands for common operations like chmod and chown, but
you cannot run any other commands.

Maybe you could find a 3rd party FTP server for Windows that allows
commands, but I did not find any.

Your best bet is to install Client Access on the NT system and then use the
OS/400 command RUNRMTCMD.
