Joe, I agree with your reasoning if I could accept your premise. I believe the premise for your argument is that new extensions only available through IE are so far superior to all other methods that one must choose to use IE's specialized extensions. That has not been my experience. Further to that reasoning, it has been my experience that Microsoft's track record of "embrace, extend, exterminate" will continue with IE and in the end you will have used your own shovel to dig your grave. I agree with you that this is not a religious issue. Many of us have heard the M$ choir and we are not ready to be baptized. --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@MartinVT.com --------------------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: midrange-l@midrange.com Date: Sunday, May 12, 2002 13:44:58 To: midrange-l@midrange.com Subject: RE: When is a Windows network not a Windows network > From: Leif Svalgaard > > although I basically agree with Joe (how is that for once, Joe?) the $500 > argument is weak, because hundreds or thousands of people may have > to spend $500, so you have to multiply here. There are certainly issues of scale to be addressed, but in the end it is a business decision, not a religious one. That's all I was trying to say. _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
