WIN98 to 720 at 5.1 via PPP

I know I'm doing something really wrong but simple...

I run the wizard via OPS NAV 5.1 to cfg a ppp connection and start it
I cfg the WIN98 pc and dial in.

If on the 720 I pick to auth using validation list and the id and password I 
want
the 720 comes back with can't find user xxxx, please add to validation list via 
OPS NAV. I've done that.

"IF" I turn off auth I get in fine...

Anyone have an idea
