We are on V5R1, just put on all the latest ptf's about two weeks ago,
have an hp8000 hooked up via twinax to a bluestar ipds emulation card,
the device is configured as ipds, and afp(*yes) - so I know set-up is all
correct,
now IF I understand the documentation, I went farther than I needed to, but
at the
bare minimum I got the same results:

This is the last thing I tried, the box prints, but I do not get any
shading:

A R BOXTEST
A BOX(1.0 1.0 1.5 8.0 *MEDIUM +
A (*SHADE *MEDIUM (*COLOR BLK)))

Does anyone see something wrong with this?
Basically the request was to make "grey" every other line on a laser printer
output
to "simulate" green bar.

I complied as afpds (otherwise it will not compile), and I do not see any
other parms
that point towards this.

I was at site http://publib/boulder.ibm.com/html/as400/v5r1/ic2924/index.htm
and searched on BOX to see what I could do, the simplest option of just
*shade *medium gave me the same box with no shading.

TIA
