Jeff,

Announcement:
http://www1.ibmlink.ibm.com/cgi-bin/master?xh=oNdVjWCxdh8*y$1USenGnN9332&request=announcements&parms=H%5fC02%2d023&xhi=usa%2emain&xfr=N

I did hear something on the phone call about something needed to be done
regarding pricing for the little guys.

This capacity on demand is interesting. If the financial investment from
IBM is already in the box then how can they charge extra for it to turn in
on? Probably the same amount of pain for the customer. Sign this, that
and the other thing, send it in to your business partner. Now get keys
for all your software as a separate item to remember. Maybe, just maybe,
if they've done it right you won't have the physical downtime involved.
And instead of waiting for the shipment of the hardware you'll just have
to wait for the IBM/business partner cycle to process your order.

My boss has been joking for years on how he was waiting for upgrades to be
done over the phone. The time has come.

There is an ancient story about a CE who came to work on a customers
mainframe. The customers were always amazed that the machine ran faster
while he was working on it. Turns out the CE was jamming a business card
into a certain area to activate the extra features while he was there. So
perhaps this kind of game has been around for awhile.

You suppose Tiger Tools will find a way to tap into the extra processors
without firing up the licensing?
