If you're too nervous to pull the plug to your ups it is time to dump your ups and get a different one. I've thrown the master breaker to the computer room a few times to test the ups. I like doing this with the new guys right after we've entered the computer room using their pass key. It controls multiple iSeries and W2K servers. I get a big kick out of watching the newbies wet themselves. CPF1816-System utility power failed at 020412144014. CPF1817-System utility power restored at 020412144022. However, you should also have received messages in your designated queue (and QSYSOPR I believe) related to loss of utility power at the moment power was lost. If you received no messages, it sounds as though your UPS and the hardware cable are not configured correctly. This is purely related to the UPS and the cable, there is no configuration required on the OS/400 side.
