What amazes me is that the API designer had the foresight to recognize that we'd need to know the actual lib used for the message file, yet didn't think we'd need to know the same for the sending/receiving program. Moreover, the information is available when displaying message details in the job log. Just like this: >From program . . . . . : QMHxxxxx From library . . . . . : QSYS Instruction . . . . . . : 0200 So someone at IBM recognized that we'd need to know. And yet, the API does give us the sending pgm's statement number in RCVM0300.... umm... isn't the statement number rather useless unless we can relate it to the correct program object....
