Then it becomes a personal issue if one would feel comfortable using a single console in a room full of 400's during a scheduled downtime and you are doing an os upgrade on them all. I have worked at a remote plant where the system console for their 400 was on a different floor of the building. Do you have a link for these KVM switches? Are they network addressable? Walk into any large organizations NOC and you'll see a KVM switch. All my W2K, Linux, Unix, Aix, Solaris, etc. boxes plug into the KVM and I have one Keyboard one Video and one Mouse.
