Any possibility that you've not installed all the options of Op's Nav? You
could try going into the setup and see if you are missing something.
Granted, I didn't look to see if this option was on mine - V5R1.

Hi all,

I have just configured a couple of TCP PTP SLIP profiles on my iSeries;
one
has to use Ops Nav these days as the 5250 interface has had the function
removed. On the older versions of OS/400 the 5250 interface allowed you
to
attach a modem profile to the SLIP profile, in Ops Nav this ability
appears
to have been removed, though the ability to manage modem profiles is still
present.

When I start the SLIP profile it does not communicate correctly with the
modem, the iSeries does not seem to use any of the modem command strings
except AT. It seems to me that I need to specify the correct modem for
the
SLIP session to use (US Robotics V90 FaxModem).

Two possibilities occur to me:
a) The Ops Nav software is missing a 'service pack' - which I've looked
for but not found;
b) The modem specification is hidden (in full view?) - which I've also
looked for but cannot find.

... any helpful suggestions will be gratefully received.

Kind Regards
