There is no need to be an all powerful integrated solution. I have one single PC at home, hooked up via cable modem. On that I have a linksys. It was cheap, effective and easy for the people here to configure and send home with me. If I was slaved to the must have an integrated solution mantra I would have had someone search around for a PC based solution. Then I would have had concerns. If the connection starts before the firewall is this a risk? If the firewall task on the PC aborts will it blast my connection or leave me exposed? Granted, here at work we've got the latest and greatest Cisco firewall(s), routers and what not.
