Do you need to check that a job by that name is running ? (and if not, submit another ?) Or that this is the *only* active instance of the job ? If duplicate jobs are found, system returns CPI1157, (Severity 10), but this is regardless of job status. If you insert a requirement for an exclusive lock on a nominal object, just to run the job, any subsequent submitted jobs will abend when they begin to run, as an exclusive lock is only available to one job at a time.
