> Find String Using PDM (FNDSTRPDM) Does that work on physical files? I had always thought that we needed different, although similar tools, to scan source files (PDM FIND) reports (F14 whatever F16) physical files (query SQL search functions usually one field at a time) Have I been jumping through unneccessary hoops to get things from one form to another so I can access another tool? > you can DSPPFM each file than scan them I like RUNQRY *N name of file with F4 *YES on bottom line so after seeing the general patterns of the data, I can F12 & play around with some selection criteria. I realize that this might be one of the reasons our system occasionally gets sluggish, especially if I encourage co-workers to be doing the same thing.
