Tom,

I went back and looked at some sources and found that there is another
alternative, but that your customer was asking the wrong question.  I
looked back on the recent variations of the integrated servers and found
that chronologically they had:

1. No communications (up through the Pentium 166).
2. One or two serial ports (Pentium 200/333)
3. 2 USB Ports

So while your customer cannot share existing OS/400-supported
communications cards with the Windows operating system on the integrated
server, they should look at the card itself and see what they can plug
into it.  Depending on the generation of hardware they may be able to
use either a standard serial modem or a USB modem directly from the card
itself.
