Thanks for the tip! I hadn't noticed that parameter. Will REFOBJ essentially "clean the slate" of all the object authorities of the object being changed and then grant the authorities of the reference object? Or do current authorities not get overridden? Example: If a current object grants authorities to QDFTOWN and the reference object does not mention QDFTOWN, will QDFTOWN lose any specific authorities it had and, therefore, inheirit *PUBLIC auths? Not really asking you to do the REFOBJ thing for CHGOBJOWN. But if this is an urge you have, go for it! <g> It seems odd to me that IBM gave us REFOBJ for GRTOBJAUT but not for CHGOBJOWN. - Dan Bale (I am *NOT* "Dale" http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l/200105/msg00281.html ) SAMSA, Inc. 989-790-0507 DBale@SAMSA.com Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur. Well the object authority is simple enough, just use GRTOBJAUT using the REFOBJ parameter. As for the CHGOBJOWN, I'd been thinking of writing a version that could use REFOBJ there as well. I'll see what I can do. I'm finding lately that I'm doing a lot of CHGOBJOWN & EDTOBJAUT for certain clients when I install new or modified objects. 'Twould be nice if I could say, "See the object owner and the object authorities for *this* object? Make it so on *these* objects." I'm sure I could whip something up fairly quick, but wanted to avoid reinventing the wheel if someone's got something out there to share. - Dan Bale (I am *NOT* "Dale" http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l/200105/msg00281.html ) SAMSA, Inc. 989-790-0507 DBale@SAMSA.com Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur.
