The solution to this problem is to ensure that the user profile being adopted has *CHANGE authority to the library in which the file resides. I did not see anything explaining this requirement in the iseries Security Reference version 5 ( http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/html/as400/v5r1/ic2924/books/c4153025.pdf ). Could anyone offer some insight ? Thanks - Dave K. p.s. object operational authority is sufficient for ADDPFM, object management authority is not necessary. ----- Original Message ----- > If a user does not have direct authority to ADDPFM a particular file, is it possible to call a program which will adopt the object management authority of the file's owner, thereby allowing the ADDPFM ?
