In direct response to this problem, may I suggest you take a look at a product from Centerfield Technolgy (www.centerfieldtechnology.com). It's called disk/HUNTER and runs in the background, monitoring for reduction in disk free space. When it finds excess growth, it reports what jobs, users, and objects are the likely suspects. It's under their insure/tools link. I wrote most of this product, it's new.
