Joe, All I have is an hourly contract so I avoid calling IBM. When I have called IBM with Java problems that were indirectly related to Tomcat, they were able to provide a PTF. Their concern was that Java ran OK. That was before Tomcat was officially distributed by IBM. Implementation support is also provided by the Tomcat users list. I have seen very few iSeries related questions. Tomcat is relatively easy to load and configure when compared to WebSphere. You might point them to this article: http://www.midrangeserver.com/mpo/mpo021402-story02.html If I were you, I would encourage the customer to dedicate 1 day to installation. Then revisit the support question. One day should get them through the prerequisites (CUM, group PTFs, JDK, etc.) and they should be able to have a sample application up and running. I generally encourage people to bring up the Struts examples, which are much more convincing than the simple examples provided with Tomcat. David Morris >>> joepluta@PlutaBrothers.com 03/20/02 05:55PM >>> David, simple question: If you have a problem with the powered by Apache HTTP server, will IBM give you support? What about Tomcat? I know that with WebSphere, if I have a configuration problem that prevents initial WebSphere installation, IBM will sit on the phone with me until we get it resolved. Will they do the same with Tomcat? Will the Tomcat developer sit on the phone with me until it's installed? This is the type of support I and my clients are asking about. Not bug fixes, but implementation support. Joe
