James, The ftp command is locsite trim 0 Nathan -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-admin@midrange.com [mailto:midrange-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of James Rich Sent: Thursday, 21 March 2002 09:06 To: midrange-l Subject: using ftp trims off trailing blanks We are using ftp to transfer a file from the iSeries to another computer (non-iSeries). We transfer a database file that contains one record that is 512 bytes long. The file is transferred to a text file on the other machine. When the file is transferred the record length is truncated to the width of the longest non-blanks record in the file (i.e. it is trimming trailing blanks). How can we transfer this file and preserve the record length?
