Two thoughts on this. First, follow the instructions for changing the panel until you see "02 B M" - but do it until you see "02 B N" This means IPL from machine area B in Normal (unattended) mode. Secondly, it sounds as if you may have multiple line descriptions configured for a single resource. If this is the case, the first one the system varies on will be available and the others will not vary on. The solution is to vary off the descriptions you don't want varied on, and then change their descriptions to vary on at IPL *NO. Then you should be able to vary the Ethernet line on, and this should not happen again.
