I would take this with a grain of salt. There are issues with every upgrade and the reaction you are describing implies that either the BP doesn't want to do the necessary preparation, wants to generate more billable hours, or needs to be more specific. I would suggest that your client contact that BP and request a specific listing of the "issues". They should not have let them get away with such a vague warning, it's hardly an appropriate basis for a sound business decision.
