Not sure about this, but have you tried defining the file first on the target system? I know this is how we have to do it to transfer save files (you have to create the save file on the target system first). Regardless, what is the reason you want to avoid using a save file? The save on the source system and the restore on the target system can be automated within an FTP batch file. - Dan Bale -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-admin@midrange.com [mailto:midrange-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Smith, Mike Sent: Wednesday, March 13, 2002 12:10 PM To: 'midrange-l@midrange.com' Subject: ftp from 400 to 400 I looked in the faq and through the archives, but didn't see an answer to this. I have the need to ftp a file from 1 400 to another. this file is created via a query process. i know i can create a save file and ftp the save file over, but was just wondering if there is a way to get it over without the save file. i have tried several ways, but when it gets to the remote 400 it is no longer in workable. ie it becomes 1 field instead of multples. thanks mike.
