But thankfully, it's still OK for someone else to plug/recommend someone
else's product/solution...

There is an excellent chapter in Leif's eBook (http://www.iseries400.org/),
that describes how to get and change various information about files &
members.

Using this information (in Chapter 8 I believe) it would be easy to write a
program to copy the source member and then alter the target members details
to match the source member.
