How Do I Connect An AS/400 To SQL Server?

My mission is to be able to issue the statement, "Connect to sqlserver user
joe using schmoe" on my AS/400.  We currently connect remotely to other
AS/400s using DRDA over SNA.  We also have clients connecting to the AS/400
using the client access ODBC driver on windows.  So, I am semi-confident
that the required ports are open and available.

When I set up the RDB Directory Entry as *IP and *DRDA I get the following
when issuing a connect.

CPD3E34 - Error code (errno) 3425 - DDM TCP/IP communications error
occurred on connect() to Application Server.
CPF9162 - Cannot establish DDM connection with remote system.
SQ30080 - Communication error occurred during distributed database
processing.

When I set up the RDB Directory Entry as *IP and 1433 (SQL Server ODBC
Port), I get the following.

CPF9176 - DDM communications ended abnormally.
SQ30080 - Communication error occurred during distributed database
processing.

I assume I need one of the following and have been searching the web for
them without success.

1.  Client SQL Server driver for AS/400
2.  DRDA Application Server for Microsoft SQL Server
