With a little programming something can be achieved. This is one possible solution. Send all prints to an output queue that has no attached printer. This output queue has a data queue attached. A server program waits on records arriving in this data queue (ie. a spoolfile has arrived or has been released) This server program works with a list of printing output queues. It uses the spool APIs to determine if there is a free printer and moves the spool file to this printer. There are many variations/alternatives to this type of processing that can produce a very flexible printing environment. Syd Nicholson Castlehill Computer Services Ltd.
