Did you need license keys for the LPPs on V4R3? I think you did for OS400 but not LPPs. That is way I was surprised to see the 170's from IBM ship with V4R3 and not V4R4. Which I think is wrong for IBM to ship even a used system with an out of date operating system. Since they will not sell you the LPP's for an out of date OS. So to buy the LPP's I have to have software subscription (and if it lapsed I have to pay a fee for that) to get current on the OS to buy the LPPs. I maybe wrong on all of this but the above is my understanding of buying a used AS/400 and getting it current if it does not come with the LPPs.
