Thanks for responding.

I am setting the format with  the EZ CD Creator 'format' function using 650
MB CD-R CDs. (Is that what you're asking?)

I remember seeing in the IBM White Paper that I used to set this up
initially that the CD volume name and the library name in the SAVLIB/RSTLIB
commands must match, so the "/" in the error message concerns me (Error
message: "File not selected.  File label or file name mismatch for file
/SPCONTROL").
